SAWCC has a long history of working with incredibly talented directors and artists and we are continuing that tradition this fall! We’re proud to announce an open call for submissions for our SAWCC Short Film Night and you can submit here.
We’re looking to curate a wide range of films and media, from animated shorts to documentaries to scripted films – you name it, we’re interested!
Our board member Pooji Jonnavithula is excited to be working with Alisha Bhowmik (film director and community member) on this event. We’ve also teamed up with the very talented Drithi Kandoor on the art and design for the evening. This is going to be a really special night, showcasing South Asian women and gender-expansive directors sharing their stories.
Directors will be asked to speak on a (short) Q&A after the screening and we will give preference to those who can attend the event. Friday (9/18), 7pm-9pm EST, Stuart Cinema (LIC) we’ll see you then!
