Shaken and Stirred is SAWCC’s fourth annual visual arts exhibition. Working within a commercial rather than a community space, this year’s show broadens the strategies used by SAWCC to fulfill its mission. Shaken and Stirred emerged from an open call for submissions and decisions make by jurors Rina Banerjee and Barbara Hunt. The aim of the show is to communicate the way in which art activism happens both within a community context, as well as by intervening into institutional spaces and in the process, redefining the boundaries of both domains. The exhibitions aims to shake and stir aesthetics and conceptual strategies for disseminating the work of South Asian women artists.
