Hello SAWCC!
We’re excited to let you know about an excellent way to become more involved with SAWCC. SAWCC is looking for enthusiastic, New York-based South Asian creative women who are passionate about our mission and objectives to join our board of directors.
We would welcome committed, collaborative creative professionals and supporters of the arts with an interest and/or experience in administrative, financial, and fundraising roles.
Here is a little bit about SAWCC (some of which you may already know!), a list of board responsibilities, and instructions for applying to join the board:
About SAWCC
The South Asian Women’s Creative Collective (SAWCC) is dedicated to supporting emerging and established South Asian women artists. SAWCC has been active for 17 years. We have a part-time staff person and a robust programming calendar, which includes monthly events, an annual literary festival, an annual visual arts show, and an annual auction fundraiser. For more information about our programs, visit www.sawcc.org.
Responsibilities
Board members are required to attend monthly board meetings and an annual retreat, organize and staff events, and fundraise for the organization. The term for a board member is 3 years. This is a critical time for SAWCC and we need members who are willing to make a strong and consistent commitment and are based in New York.
To apply for board membership, please send us the following by September 15:
1. Your most recent resume or CV.
2. A statement  about why you are interested in joining the SAWCC board, and what your goals are for your board membership (not to exceed 1 page).
3. A short statement committing to attending monthly board meetings, checking your SAWCC board email at least once a day, and organizing and volunteering at SAWCC events.
Once we review your materials, we will contact you if selected for an interview.
Please direct any questions to info@sawcc.org and send all materials by September 15.
We look forward to hearing from you!
